"We establish no religion in this country, we command no worship, we mandate no belief, nor will we ever. Church and state are, and must remain, separate. All are free to believe or not believe, all are free to practice a faith or not, and those who believe are free, and should be free, to speak of and act on their belief. At the same time that our Constitution prohibits state establishment of religion, it protects the free exercise of all religions. And walking this fine line requires government to be strictly neutral."
—Ronald Reagan

Moon light you misunderstood what he was saying. He's saying that everyone is free to practice their own religion. Or not to practice if they don't have one. I was getting at how cool it was to NOT live in Iraq, or wherever you live that you can't fathom what freedom means.

I applaud him for making that statement. However, the fact remains that there is yet a Conservative to believe that. The archetype idea is that all Judeo-Christians are going to Heaven and all non Judeo-Christians are going to Hell.

If they would only do exactly that!

George W. is the best example: holding a mass for the victims of 9/11, after talking about how bad religion is....yeah, right!

yeah that's cool and all...but there are so many gray areas...no one wants to admit it but America was founded on Christian values...so we as a people, whether you believe in religion or not, should respect those values and uphold them not as part of your religion but as a part of your patriotic, moral code.
