Fallout or fallout 2. It is a completely fresh idea (well it was when it came out a while ago) it takes place in a post apocalyptic world. so its not dungens and dragons. the characters are more customizable than most other rpgs i have played. the game is also hilarious in a dark humor type of way and is very non linear. if you have never played it, deffinitly check it out. you can buy both together for like 10-20 bucks, and im sure you can find it online if you are a bad person and pirate software.

Play Crystalis, a Zelda clone that reminds me of the anime classic Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind. There are two versions: the NES original from 1990 and the GBC re-release from 2000. The GBC sports better chapter screens, but the original has a better story. The gameplay of both versions is almost the same, and it's engaging.

i like xenogears. nice game. FFX. sweet story. im hooked on FFXI right now. cant get enough of it.
but im guessing u were looking for something free. and online to play.
