My favorite player is Kaka'. He plays for my favorite team AC Milan as well, but I don't want to talk about his biography, you can find it below if you want to read it. I'll simply say that he is actually one of the best players in the World. He's got a lot of talent, an impressive vision of the game and he is a leader in his team and national team as well, although his young age. A great personality mixed up with an extraordinary technique and a special way of playing (unseen before) makes of him a particular kind of player (maybe the most particular) that every coach wishes to have in his team. He can change the match with one touch or pass, his speed his unique, if he runs with the ball in his feet nobody can reach him (see his goal in Brazil v Argentina) and although he is not a striker he scores a discrete amount of goals a season (most of them beautiful and spectacular). Last thing I don't want to forget what kind of person he is. Never fights with the others, always calm, polite and very generous since he does a lot of charity and he is the youngest representative of the Organization of the United Nations in the World.

David Trezeguet- He is great. I think no one is better at finishing than him. He may not be as fast or skillful with the ball as some other players, but once it's passed to him, and he's inside that box, he will score. He is so underrated and overshadowed, and has been going through so many hard times lately. He hasn't been allowed to play much in France's lineup, (which is a huge mistake by Domenech, because Trezeguet should always be a starter in the striker pair with Henry), he missed that penalty in the final, and Juventus is forcing him to stay, when he wants to leave that club. It's very sad to see all these things happening to such a great striker who should be shining as a hero right now. And on his personality, I like him very much because he is such a quiet, shy, very kind person, I can't stand those cocky football players. I hope things go better for him soon, because he deserves his glory, we believe in him! I will always be his best and greatly loyal fan. Best wishes to him!

Steven Gerrard is one of the Liverpool's great players. he has graced in major European competition finals like UEFA Champions' League, UEFA Cup, UEFA European Super-Cup & won all of them. he has also captained his team to FA Cup victory last season & scores some wonderful goals. one of them is the 2nd goal in the English FA Cup final last season which saved Liverpool from the brink of defeat.
i remember him scoring his first international goal against GERMANY in Munich during the 2002 FIFA World Cup qualifier on 01 September 2001 which ENGLAND won 5-1 that day.
his greatest moments as the captain when he led Liverpool to glory in the 2005 UEFA Champions' League final against AC Milan in Istanbul, TURKEY.

Alberto Gilardino (July 5, 1982 in Biella, Italy) is an Italian football (soccer) player, who is a striker for A.C. Milan and the Italian national team. He was member of the Italian team which won the 2006 FIFA World Cup.
Club
Gilardino started his career for Piacenza Calcio, playing his first match in Serie A against A.C. Milan. Then he was sold to Hellas Verona, for which he played for two season and scoring only two goals but showing plenty of his talent. His career was launched on the international stage in 2002, after he moved to Parma on explicit request of former Hellas Verona coach Cesare Prandelli. He scored five goals in his first season and then 23 goals the next year, when he ranked as second-placed scorer in Serie A in the 2003-04 season. Gilardino was Voted Best Italian Player and Best Overall Player for the 2004/05 season.
He made an estimated £18m transfer to AC Milan on 17 July 2005, and declared, "Why did I choose Milan? They fascinate me and they are clearly the strongest club in European football, I can't wait to start training." Though he has scored seventeen goals for Milan in Serie A, he failed to find his offensive form in all twelve matches of Milan's 2005-06 UEFA Champions League campaign.
National
He played for the Italian national football team during the 2004 Olympics in Athens, winning the bronze medal. He also led Italy's Under 21 team to victory in the 2004 European Under-21 Football Championship. He also played for 2002 European U-21 Football Championship Qualifying round against Hungary and playoff for Final Tournament, against Poland home legs. He played for Italian U18 team, reached Intermediary round of 2000 European Under-18 Football Championship. He is considered to be one of the strongest strikers of Italy and a bright hope for the Azzurri future.
Gilardino was a member of the Italian team at the 2006 FIFA World Cup. He played in the first two matches, scoring a goal against USA with a brilliant header. He came on as a substitute in the semi-final match versus Germany, hitting the post in extra-time and providing the pass for Alessandro Del Piero's stoppage time goal that sealed Italy's 2-0 victory. Unfortunately, Gilardino was not used as frequently as he could have been, and instead coach Marcello Lippi played Luca Toni as the main striker the majority of the time.
He is engaged to Alice.

O_O You forgot Totti... I'm surprised no one picked Andrea Pirlo, so I'll just talk about him. =) I'll have to keep my opinion piece a little short, though.
He is a wonderful midfielder, and played a large role in the pace of both club and international matches. He's also extraordinary when it comes to free kicks and corner kicks.
He was named Man of the Match 3 times in the World Cup tournament: Italy vs. Ghana (first round); Italy vs. Germany (semi-final); Italy vs. France (final). He provided 3 assists, most notably the one that Grosso eventually scored with a splendid curving kick, and the equalizer in the final match.
---
Here is some more information from Wikipedia (some of the above is also included there):
Andrea Pirlo (born May 19, 1979) is an Italian footballer. He currently plays for A.C. Milan.
Football Career:
Pirlo has played for Brescia (1994-98 and 2001), Internazionale (1998-99 and 2000), Reggina (1999-2000), and AC Milan (2001-). With Milan, he won one scudetto and one Champions League title. He also won an Italian Cup and a UEFA Super Cup with Milan in 2003. For Italy, Pirlo played at the 2000 Summer Olympics, won the bronze medal at the 2004 Olympics, played at the Euro 2004, and won the 2006 FIFA World Cup. In his younger days, Pirlo captained Italy to an Under-21 European Championship in 2000.
Pirlo is one of the best midfielders in the Serie A. An accurate passer, he has a deep-seated playmaking role at AC Milan and Italy. At Milan the game is focused around his ability to dictate play and control the game's tempo. His lack of the physical stature for a defensive midfielder is compensated by his technique, and his defensive qualities have improved considerably, although they are still limited. Nevertheless, this is not an issue for his team as he is backed up in midfield by more physical players like Gennaro Gattuso and Clarence Seedorf. A dead ball specialist, Pirlo is the first choice taker of corner and free kicks. In the 2005-2006 season Pirlo scored four times from free-kicks, matching the previous record (three times by Demetrio Albertini and one by Frank Rijkaard).
2006 World Cup:
Pirlo was a member of the Italian Squad for the 2006 World Cup in Germany. This World Cup tournament was not Pirlo's first but the midfielder rose to the occasion, starting every game and helping his team with a very consistent overall performance.
In Italy's first match in the tournament, Pirlo scored the opening goal against Ghana, and subsquently set up a goal for Vincenzo Iaquinta to seal the 2-0 victory. He was named the "Man of the Match".
Pirlo played brilliantly throughout the semifinal against Germany, and he ultimately created a key play at the very end of extra time to give Italy a dramatic victory. At the 119th minute, Pirlo received a ball deflected just outside the German penalty area and kept possession for just enough time to provide a defence splitting assist to Fabio Grosso, who scored the opening goal. Moments later, Alessandro Del Piero scored again, Italy won 2-0, and Pirlo was named Man of the Match once again.
Pirlo's sparkling form was again in evidence against France in the 2006 World Cup Final on July 9. His passing proved vital for the Azzurri, and his corner kick produced Marco Materazzi's equalizing header ten minutes after France had opened the score. The match went to a penalty shoot-out, and Pirlo set a positive tone for his teammates by confidently scoring the first penalty kick. His performance during the match resulted in his being named the FIFA Man of the Match for a third time, more than any other player over the course of the tournament.
"Man of the Match" awards
* July 9, Italy 1:1 (PSO 5:3) France (Final)
* July 4, Germany 0:2 a.e.t Italy (Semi- Final)
* June 12, Italy 2:0 (1:0) Ghana (First Round)
Pirlo's fine form in Germany earned him the Bronze Ball, as he was voted the third best player of the tournament behind Zinedine Zidane and Fabio Cannavaro.
[edit]
Family background:
Pirlo comes from a wealthy family. His father owns two ironworks. Since they love the game, his family supported his playing football. His brother, Ivan, is 3 years older than him. Ivan often says he was a better footballer than Andrea when they were both young. Now, Ivan plays for a C2 club in Brescia. His sister, Silvia, is 10 years younger than him. Unsurprisingly, she is a die-hard fan of her brother.

mauro camoranesi
- is from Argentina and plays for Italy
- is BEST friends with Gianluca Zambrotta
- has very very very nice hair
- is very sexy/hot
Mauro Germán Serra Camoranesi (born October 4, 1976 in Tandil, Argentina) is a Italo-Argentinian football midfielder, who currently plays for Juventus, recently demoted to Serie B.
Camoranesi is a member of the Italy national football team and was part of the winning squad at the 2006 World Cup. He is a midfielder, and usually plays on the right wing, where he is most comfortable and effective.
Camoranesi has always been a big fan of the Argentinian club River Plate. As a youngster, he played in his native country Argentina for Aldosivi, but moved to Mexico to begin his professional playing career at Santos Laguna. During the 1996-97 season, he scored 8 goals in 22 games for the team.
More travels came for the young Argentine the following year, as he moved to Uruguayan club Montevideo Wanderers briefly. Before returning back to his homeland to play for Banfield, solidifying himself as an impressive attacking right midfielder, playing 38 games and scoring 16 goals.
The following season once again, Camoranesi moved. This time back to Mexico and to the club Cruz Azul, he played for the club between 1998 and 2000. This is where he caught the attention of Italian Serie A side Hellas Verona, after impressing at Cruz Azul with 32 goals in 78 games, a respectable record for a midfield player.
He moved to Italy in 2000, with Hellas Verona playing for the club for two years, before moving to Italian giants Juventus in 2002, where he became a prominent member of the squad.
With Juventus, Camoranesi won the 2002-03 edition of Serie A, and the 2002 and 2003 Italian Super Cups. Camoranesi was also a Serie A champion with the "bianconeri" in both the 2004-05 and 2005-06 seasons, but Juventus were stripped of both those titles as another result of the "calciopoli" scandal.
Despite his agent; Sergio Fortunato linking the player to clubs such as Lyon, Valencia and Liverpool over the summer, following Juve's relegation. Camoranesi made an announcement himself in September 2006, pledging loyalty to Juventus: "In January I will not ask to be sold, I'm happy to stay here,"[2] he stated.
[edit]
International
Although born in Argentina, Camoranesi has Italian ancestry, hence his last name. This made him eligible to play for either Argentina or Italy, but the "Azzurri" showed interest in him first and, in February of 2003, he made his international debut for Italy in a friendly match against Portugal, which Italy won 1-0, under former coach Giovanni Trapattoni.
Some Italian fans are not too fond of Camoranesi because, upon accepting Trapattoni's offer to play for the "Azzurri", he stated: "I'm not a traitor, I still feel 100% Argentine and have done nothing to find myself in this situation. It's only a football matter, nothing else". He also chooses not to sing the Italy's national anthem before their matches because he doesn't know the words, although he can be seen singing (at least a part of) said anthem during the World Cup celebrations in Circus Maximus on 10 July 2006. He has been capped 26 times by Italy and has scored one goal, which came in Italy 2006 World Cup qualifier away to Belarus, which the Italians won by 4 goals to 1.
Camoranesi played for Italy at UEFA Euro 2004, and was also part of Marcello Lippi's Italy team which won the 2006 FIFA World Cup. At the end of the final match, in which Italy defeated rivals France, Camoranesi had Massimo Oddo, his team-mate, chop off a large chunk of his long hair as the rest of the squad danced around them in a circle, one of the tournament's most memorable moments. Camoranesi then went up to the Camera and dedicated the triumph by saying: "para los pibes del barrio ..." (for the guys from the neighbourhood).
