Girl I know how you feel my parents and my sis would always be on my back when I am on the computer. all as doing was listening to music and chatting with friends too. But they got worry that I was doing something I ain't supposed to be. So I would only be on the computer from 30-60 minutes. Then I would go back on after a while. Like 30.min later. This either annoy them or that go tired of trying to figure when I am on the computer

You don't say how old you are. Regardless, for what ever reason they want to make sure you're doing the right thing and not chatting with the wrong type of person. Let them watch you all they want. Sooner or later they're going to figure out that you just want to listen to music and chat with your friends. They'll leave you alone after a while. Trust me.

If your mom is watching your computer activities, she is doing her job. I am sure you are a very smart 12 year old, but there are many crafty users on the net. Also Stephanie, it probably seems worse than it really is. Trust me, in a couple of short years, it won't seem that bad.
Just be glad you have a mom that cares.

I'm a father, and I understand their concern. They love you and just want you to be safe. I know it stinks having somebody watching you all the time, but remember there are tons of perverts out there just looking for an opening. Sometimes just invite them over to the computer and show them what you are up to. I know you want your privacy, but look at from your mom's point of view. She sees you online for a long time and you act defensive when she wants to know what you were doing. To a parent this can look like you were doing something wrong and want to hide it from her. Remember, she loves you and doesn't want anything bad to happen to you.

You need to understand that increased internet activity is a sign of many problems in teenagers. They might be concerned. As long as you aren't doing anything they would see as wrong, don't worry about it. After a while of checking up on you they'll see that they're not finding anything and learn to trust you. Be open with them about how you feel and don't do anything online you wouldn't want them to see!

They are scared that you will get hurt.
Realize that there are a lot of older people out their with criminal intentions that are on the internet searching for young and innocent minded people to take advantage of.
They could try to entice you with money, gifts, trips, or whatever it is they think you like.
Basically, all they want is sex from you. And anyone over 18 who is interested in getting sexual with you is a pedophile.
Please realize this when you are online making friends.

I kinda of understand were they are coming from. I don't think they think that you are stupid. They just want you to be safe. As I'm sure you already know there are a lot of weird people out here.

they're just concerned about you. It's probably not you they don't trust it's the other people on the internet. They track young people for a living. And your mom is just doing what she's supposed to.

Be grateful you have people watching out for you; if you're not doing anything wrong you have nothing to worry about. They aren't telling you to stay offline, are they? When you grow up and have children of your own, you'll understand.
