pico = 10^-12
femto 10^-15

when you say 60 pico seconds it's really a shorthand way of writing

pico: 60ps = 60*10^-12 seconds
femto: 22fm = 22.5 * 10^15 meters

it works like this

1 second
0.1 = 100 milliseconds (1*10^-1)
0.01 = 10 milliseconds (10*10^-2)
0.001 = 1 ms = 10^-3

the ^-3 shows how many places after the decimal place the first significant number should be

i.e

1*10^-1 = 1 place after the decimal point = 0.1
1*10^-2 = 2 places after the decimal point = 0.02
1*10^-3 = 3 " " = 0.003

Summary

1*10^-3 = 0.001 = 1 millisecond (ms)
1*10^-6 = 0.000001 = 1 microsecond (us)
1*10^-9 = 0.000000001 = 1 nanosecond (ns)
1*10^-12 = 0.000000000001 = 1 picosecond (ps)

The same applies for large numbers

eg

1000 = thousand = 10^3 (notice no '-') = kilosecond
1000000 = million = 10^6 = megasecond
1000000000 = billion = 10^9 = gigaseconds

hope that helps

Convert Fm To M

To do this you need to know all of the metric prefixes and their relationships.
1 of the "standard unit" = 1000 milli___
1 milli___=1000 micro___
1 micro___=1000 nano___
1 nano___=1000 pico___ (not "picto___")
1 pico___= 1000 femto___

With those, you can convert any unit into the standard units (s, m, or whatever)
