My personal experience with them was just things being weird colors and patterns. However, I had a friend who once felt like he was dying and he was in hell. The experience really varies person to person, and you have to realize that you may not be in for a good and pleasant trip. People have died becasue of things they have imagined when they were tripping. I wouldn't recommend trying them, but if you must, PLEASE be careful, and have a sober person with you the entire time.
