a political theory (Karl Marx) of a classless society with no private ownership

fundamentally, a system of social organization in which property (especially real property and the means of production) is held in common. Thus, the ejido system of the indigenous people of Mexico and the property-and-work system of the Inca were both communist, although the former was a matter of more or less independent communities cultivating their own lands in common and the latter a type of community organization within a highly organized empire.

In modern usage, the term Communism (written with a capital C) is applied to the movement that aims to overthrow the capitalist order by revolutionary means and to establish a classless society in which all goods will be socially owned. The theories of the movement come from Karl Marx, as modified by Vladimir Ilyich Lenin, leader of the successful Communist revolution in Russia. Communism, in this sense, is to be distinguished from socialism, which (as the term is commonly understood) seeks similar ends but by evolution rather than revolution.

my understanding of communism is that it means that everyone has enough to live on. No-one has too much or too little. I think that because of all the politics and the oversights of the idealogy perhaps this didn't work in practise. I've heard all about the queuing times or the fact that they only had one type of cereal. Perhaps if communism had not become a dirty word in the U.S. for example they communist block would have been able to trade with the US and obtain more choice. As it were they could not and thus is all went wrong....

From the worth of each to the needs of the many. No private properties. All working for the benefit of the whole. Sounds beautiful doesn't it. Problem is somebody's got to make the decisions as to who does what and who gets what. Power tends to corrupt. Absolute power would be the strongest drug ever made. Once the system is in place, communist governments always seem to revert to everybody working for the good of those few of us who tell you what to do.

Communism is an ideology that seeks to establish a future classless, stateless social organization, based upon common ownership of the means of production and the absence of private property. It can be classified as a branch of the broader socialist movement.

Well, Republicans, as you can see, have no right to call us communists.

The political end of the spectrum of capitalisim

One company in the case of communisim the state owns everything

Capitolisim taken to it's ectreme would have one winner as well and everything would be owned by one company or person.

In capitolisim the unuseable population is seen as expendable in communisim they are seen as somthing in need of support

A system very similar to the army. If you don't believe me join the army. Your job is assign according by your abilities, your pay is based on rank, no freedom of speech, no freedom of press, they own everything you have, as in uniforms, tools, weapons etc. Just try it!
