If it's gas, the pilot light is probably out. If it is electric, the heating element is probably burnt open.

First, make sure you have the dryer on the correct cycle. They do have a cycle for 'air' only. If it is set properly, the thermostat is bad and will have to be replaced. These are relatively easy for a do it yourself, if you are handy with things of this nature. If not, you'll have to call a repair man to fix it. Sometimes, it's cheaper to buy a new dryer.

I would bet that its the heating element. If it is a gas dryer. if it is, find where the flame shoots out. right next to that, or in front of it there will be a white ceramic electrode with 2 wires. that's what needs to be replaced. don't touch it unless you have unplugged your dryer. you will get shocked if there is any current running through.

I had this happen. Check all your venting. The venting could be clogged with lint. I found the clog in my basement.
Also - if you have an open vent to outdoors, make sure you have a cover over your vent. Animals will set up shop in your ventwork and clog the works....

I use it 50 min to dry it,but if that does work I do it with my hair dryer.
