Also, how are they paid? By game? Salary? Performance?

Does their pay vary by conference? (If so, how do they compare - from cheapest to highest?)

I know these are kind of stupid, insignificant questions. I am just wondering if anyone knows. I am still ticked off at the refs from last week's Oklahoma vs. Oregon game. I've been wondering about these questions all week.

It is up to the individual conferences. The Big 12 will pay more than the mountain west. The ref's make the same for all games in their respective conferences. Except conference championships. PAC 10 officials make the same also, Except, of course, those in Eugene, OR. They make their standard then an extra 120% increase, paid by Nike, for close games decided by irrational old men that can't conceive the moronic implications they imposed on the University of Oklahoma and it's players.

They are payed per game and by how significant the game is. Like a ref reffing two powerhouse teams will make more than Penn vs. Harvard
