I am new to using torrents. I tried to download a movie and it shows that it is 100% downloaded but still has many hours left of seeding. What does that mean?

Again, I thank those knowledgable in computers - am thinking of changing my avatar name to technofool!!!

Seeding is sending bits of information to other users on that torrent. You downloaded the file piece by piece, and now you're helping other people to download it! The more seeders there are on a file per leechers (downloaders), the faster a file downloads.

Seeding is a good thing, and you should be sure to always seed for at least a little bit if your connection can take it. Think of it as giving back for what you took!

seeding means that your giving back what you took to other users that are also downloading the movie at the same time you did but you got it first that's what seeding means
