Our favorite sports allow us to relax, and think much better afterwards... is this true with you too? Why?

I LOVE diving! Underwater, it's easy to forget everything that's going on topside, it's like being in a completely different world.
Plus it's fun meeting people from all walks of life who dive, people that one may never meet otherwise.

P.S. In Dive Training magazine this month, there's an article about wearing the mask on the forehead, and why it's a bad habit, but it doesn't have much to do with diver in distress. Check it out:

Sure, I like my work. It gives me a chance to close the office door and keep idiots from bothering me during the day.I do have a question for you, however. When are you going to buy a new set of regs? Those look like ancient aqua lungs and belong in a museum and not used for any serious dives. I know, I have a set hanging on the wall for curious on lookers.
And is that a horse collar BC, I see? Why is your mask on your forehead? That's not a good habit.

Edit: Cell....that's what I was getting at, by being a bad habit. Talk about crying wolf to anyone that is rescue certed , wearing that mask that way.

Edit: Actually Lachic, when you take your rescue, you'll be taught that wearing the mask that way is indicative of a paniced diver. It's also why it's drilled in to open water students not to do this to prevent false alarms. I have seen a few instructors, DM's and rescue qualified jump off a dive boat to "rescue" a diver like this. It's a pain in the butt and a breakdown in communication that could lead to a real problem that could easily be avoided by following standard practice. Good dive boat skippers, the DM's and other divers will be watching divers on the surface. If they have to start an un needed "rescue" it's potentially putting others in harm's way without just cause. A lousy way to get killed.

Edit: Hey Cell... I see you're a demo man. Must be USN. Former Canadian Navy Sigs here. We had some of your guys aboard on some training ops. Good bunch.

Depends on where I dive. I've never dived anywhere except off my base waters, where the water is usually the colour of tea and sometimes grey, green or black, and has many different tastes as well. Yuck.

Scubabob mentioned mask on forehead is a bad habit. It's actually a signal for 'diver unwell'. Which brings me to the point that some conditions, such as compression or squeeze pains, can seriously diminish your enjoyment!

EDIT - lachicadecafe, it's a bad habit because it MEANS diver in distress.
