Yes - I live in Central Oklahoma, and have been here for many major storms, including the big F-5 tornado of May 3rd, 1999 which passed a couple of miles southeast of my house, and an F-4 that hit the airport a mile northwest of my home last summer, taking out 3 hangars, several airplanes and a bunch of nearby buildings. I've seen "lowerings" develop into funnel clouds on several other occaisions as well. Most major storms here involve heavy lightning strikes as well as large hailstones and heavy wind damage to buildings and trees; flash floods are not uncommon but generally hit other parts of the state. We also suffer major ice storms nearly every winter, the worst of which (2001) put my neighborhood out of electric power for 4 days. I was also snowed in for 3 days during the blizzard of 1978.

Short answer? YES.

I have been in ice storms, one tornado, many lightning storms, snow storms, hail storms, only one flood that was not that bad (it never reached the house), but thankfully no hurricanes. I live in Indiana. We get just about everything except hurricanes. I am still waiting for the big earthquake that is suppose to hit the Midwest. I have felt 2 tremors.

I've been in hail storms (however they weren't that big), severe lightning storms (lightning struck a house and it burst into flames, the family survived, ice storms (I've been iced in), and snow storms (I've been snowed in).

I've had some close cases of tornadoes, but it never struck our house. No floods here either.

Yes, just last night actually with lightning. Plenty of hail and within 30 miles of a tornado.

I had not been in a devastating storm before and I would not like to! I hear about them, which makes me sad about the people who has and is going through that problem. And I'm sorry to hear about that.

Yea! I went through Hurricane Andrew! I was in Ft. Myers , Fl. I live in Cali., so I'd never been in a hurricane B4. Let me tell you, I'll stick to my couple of seconds of an earthquake. I don't ever want to go through another hurrican ever again!
