If she is your best friend, then you must be used to talking about everything and you must be really close, right? I assume you are only wondering about this because you are wondering if she fancies YOU, right? So, probably I would just ask something fairly inoccuous first like "Have you ever wondered what it would be like to kiss a girl?" and gauge her reaction to that. She might get all embarrassed and say "sometimes" or she might go "eww yuck what are you asking me that for?" either way hopefully the first question can lead into a discussion about it. Be prepared to be honest about your own feelings too - if she is, will it change your friendship at all? If not, let her know that it makes no difference to you either way. Keep in mind, before you even start this conversation, any cultural differences you may have - people from different backgrounds are used to different levels of personal space, and she may be the same way with all of her close friends.

A good friend telling you that she loves you,does't mean she is a lesbian,just being a friend,and friends do compliment each other.

that doesnt mean she's a lesbian me and my friends always say "i love you" to each other and im a hundred percent sure im not a lesbian because i like guys and im sure shes not a lesbian cause she has a bf

She is just showing much she cares about you. And even if she is a lesbian you shouldn't let that ruin your friendship.

most friends do that, i do that..i say "oh i love you" to my friend and give them hugs but i am 100% positive that i am straight because i like guys.i know that for sure.
