Not usually but still fun sometimes. I had a fantastic time singing Karaoke in the middle of nowhere a couple of months ago. I was in central asia and was singing in english and russian with some trekkers, mountaineers and porters. Vodka was a key ingredient!

It might be entertaining for the singer, but I have NEVER seen a karaoke singer that actually LOOKED AT THE AUDIENCE which is critical to STAGE PRESENCE. Karaoke will never replace a really great performer. Its entertainmnent, but its not GREAT entertainment and probably never will be.

No, I don't think so, however my 6 year old wants a Karaoke machine for Christmas, so I could be wrong, anyway who cares as long as you find if fun.

The charts are full of people who obviously think that it is! Karaoke is like those TV programmes which imply that DIY or property development is easy - they're not, and neither is creating , performing, and marketing your own music. The fact that you normally have to be drunk to atempt it should tell you something!

I wouldn't say cool. But it can be a right laugh after a few too many drinks with a bunch of friends.

Probably not but who cares? Get up there a bang out a tune, have fun and blow the rest of them who think it's uncool. They probably don;t know how to have fun without embarassment.
