I myself am not in the cell phone world for cool stuff. I just want a simple phone to pick up and say "Hello" and talk to someone. For years i would get the latest models and my first phone was a bag phone. It worked great and every year or two I would get the best phone I could find and a new 2 year plan. We used my last phone from Thailand on vacation, it would take pics and do the internet and play music and all kinds of really cool stuff. I found I was paying 400 to 600 bucks a year to have the cool stuff and never ever used the extras. Then on top of that I was paying Cinglar 600 to 800 dollars a year for service and never used all the minutes. I never used text or any of that stuff I was paying for.. I started looking and found the best deal for me. I got a simple Nokia the cheapest on they make from Net 10 and got 2 months free access (300 minutes) and then I bought a 1 year card (1500 minutes). I was out a total of 200 dollars for a year service and I got a new phone as well. It has been almost 6 months now and I have almost used 100 minutes and even got a few spam text messages. I turned off the free text serivce after that crap.

So if you just want to be able to talk to people on your phone get a Net - 10 phone or maybe a Trac phone. about a 1000 dollars cheaper a year.
