I plan to spend less on Christmas, but spread cheer by giving close friends, neighbors, and community baked goods displayed in a unique way.
I always go waaaay out but will do things a little different. ( who knows I may give out gas cards.lol. )

It will be hard to spend less this year than last, because last year was my most highly budgeted Christmas ever! I don't like it, but that's where we are financially right now.
I was just thinking how nice it would be to make handmade Christmas presents for the extended relatives this year, and get my children in on the act. Maybe we could make soaps together, or potholders, or homemade cookie mixes...anything like that which takes effort and people will actually use.
When I was little, my grandmother always gave us grandkids handknitted slippers, toothpaste, and an orange at Christmas. Probably that was what she herself had received for Christmas as a child. It reminded me of "the olden days", and I realized that Christmas presents don't have to be fancy or huge; they just have to show you care.

I always say I am not going to spend as much as I did in past years. I go waaaay out and around the corner! This year, I really hope I don't spend nearly what I usually do. I spend the rest of the year paying for everyones Christmas gifts, and that is not cool! So optimistically, I will say I will spend less!

I'll probably spending more this year. Since we can afford it. Also I'll be buying/replacing decorations (my toddler son loves the decorations but is not careful when holding them). I start buy Christmas early, sometime I start stocking up in the summer.
Presents are fun but they are not the folcal point of this holiday. I like the traditions that my family and I do every year better. The gifts are just a plus.

paige gas cards and gift cards for grocery stores are great ideas.that way you will know that there getting used and not put ina corner some where or closet...what i do is have my freiends family make a list and ill pick 3 items from each list ...cross those off and pass the list on...that way every one gets what they wanted...i used to go wayyyyyyy out but decide two years ago ..the list was great...its hard buying for the older great aunts and gramma they have everything...so we take them out too lunch..or dinner few times year and buy them flowers...i like your idea you could go to an old folks home with baked goodies....my cousin works at an old folks home and they love it when he lil boy goes in and she bakes treats for them....happy holidays early

I will probably spend less but that is because I over spent on my kids last year and because so many of the oldest relatives have died that there are fewer people to buy for.
My children are in their twentys now so they should suport themselves and being too generous at Xmas is not a good thing.

probable around the comparable as final twelve months. I paintings nights, and end on Christmas morning. Then that is off to mattress, till 4pm, then Christmas evening. So Christmas incredibly happens on Boxing Day this twelve months. whether that's the time around Christmas it incredibly is important, no longer purely the day itself.

Yes. Less money = less spending.
If I had more I would definitley spend it. I love to splurge on my husband and daughter but this year we just don't have it.
I don't have anyone else except my family. I sometimes get cards for people at church. That's it.

We've been cutting back more and more every year. We decided to focus more on reading scriptures and visiting people instead. That's smart to do baked goods - maybe try some sugar-free or rice flour for those of us who are cutting back on white flour and sugar.

Yes. I always do the same, but plan to cut back this year. I want to focus on giving more meaningful gifs...not necessarily expensive ones.
