Can anybody suggest the best one for the least money?
I know absolutely nothing about them.

One additional question: I see them on eBay all the time. Some say "like new" and there are a few songs already on them. If I bought one that was slightly used, and it had songs on it that I didn't like, could I delete those songs? Or would I have to just not play them? Or would they play automatically whether I wanted to hear them or not?

Oh, and one more question: Do they have some type of small headphone? Or do they play loud enough that anybody nearby can hear them? Or both?

Oh, one more: I keep seeing that people say you have to go to iTunes to download music. What if I already have a lot of music on my own hard drive? And I don't want anything new? Can't I just download it from my own computer to the iPod?

If you only want it for exercising I would probably skip the IPOD name and got for a different brand, cheaper for the same amount of space.
I would NOT buy one on Ebay because you never know what happened to it before it was put for auction and you could be out alot of money.
If you do buy on ebay with songs alreday on it you can delete those.
You dont have to buy music from Itunes, you can get music from anywhere you were getting them before. You can add all of the music you already have to your ipod as long as you have enough room on it.

The new iPod Shuffle is great for that purpose. ($79 US) Go on Apple.com and check it out. The only downside is that you can't view the songs on the iPod screen because the Shuffle does not have one. The truth is, you don't do that when walking anyway.
If you must have a screen, go for the iPod Nano. They both use flash memory instead of a hard drive which makes them great for walking and jogging because there or no moving parts.
I would suggest a new one as a better way to go. Used ones can be a bigger gamble.

Then just get an ipod Shuffle. It is the cheapest but also holds the least amount of music. It doesn't have a screen or anything, so you can't see what song is playing while it plays.
The 512 MB runs about $50.

The iPod shuffle is an excellent choice for walking and exercise. They came out with a new model recently that is $80. This iPod only plays music and doesn't have any other bonus features likt the nano or mini iPods.

Buy the iPod shuffle. It's under $100, holds 250 songs, and it's a little bigger than the size of a digital camera card.

I suggest the iPod shuffle, because you can put all your fave songs on it and you an listen to your fave songs while you're excercising and its like the size of lipstick or a regular cell phone but a lot skinnier.
