No, it was Bill Haley and the Comets.

Perhaps your friend was looking at the song list from the "Best of Bandstand" video which says: Bill Haley and his Comets - "Rock Around the Clock," Buddy Holly - "Peggy Sue."

He may have read it to mean Buddy Holly did "Rock."

NO IT WAS BILL HALEY AND THE COMETS, BUT I THINK THEY DID ALOT OF SHOWS TOGETHER BACK IN THE DAY.
