i dont know if he's dead or not, i hope he is though. i dont wish death on anyone in most cases, but he is the exception.
it would have been much better to have caught him, and i think you're right about it solving problems, but i bet Bush wont pull us out of anywhere anytime soon. and the reports are saying that bin laden may have died of typhoid, but i bet bush will put a spin on it that takes credit for it somehow. just like when the guys in the UK prevented the terrorists from getting on the plane last month and Bush talked about the great job "we" did.

The report of Bin Ladin's death is a RUMOR at this point, but one that the govmnt thinks has a somewhat strong weight to it. The story is not planted for some reason as to smoke Bin Laden out of his retreat, for if it is a lie, Bin Ladin could always make a videotape showing that its a lie. The previous videotapes of him have not yielded his secret refuge so far, so there would be no point for the govnmt to try this now. Most likely, the informant source of this leak is a creditable one, that is why they are giving it some possible credibilty.
The West can't kill Bin Ladin in the media. They're not stupid. He'd just make another tape showing them wrong & dumb, or liars. There are professional ways of proving whether or not a tape has been doctored or not. They've been testing all of them so far..

You act as if the death of Usama bin Laden (UBL)would stop all terrorism and we would no longer need to worry about our security. What a naive position! You even condradict yourself by saying that you are sure there will be another terrorist strike. If you believe this, why would you want to dismantle homeland security?
Think about this, buddy:
1) The terrrorists wish to destroy the Jewish state and the USA.
2) They seek world domination and will kill anyone who does not convert to their religion.
3) UBL's death would not stop the terrorists from continuing to try and achieve their goals, so why try to make up such a story?
4) Just what are you saying is being covered up? Your question makes no sense as worded.

I know that won't solve all of our problems, especially because the U.S. gov't WANTS to be over there doing this. Oil, money, religion, theories of western supremacy, there are so many reasons they're over there besides retaliation for 9/11 and U.S.S. Cole.
BUT, one thing I do agree with you on is the fact that media does play such an important role in how we view things. The majority of Americans would feel better if we "got rid" or bin Laden. The rest of us realize that that's not an end all be all solution.

how can so many people be so easily taken in if the US goverment had really wanted bin Laden why did they private jet all the Bin Laden family out of the US a couple of days after 9/11 when all other flights were grounded .it was all over the TV here and if he is so clever no one could find him, why couldn`t he think up his own terrorist name so the CIA or who ever ,had to come up with Al Qadar for him

I don't really think it matters if Bin Laden dies or not. There will be someone else to rise up and take his place. His death wouldn't be the end of terrorism... don't people realize this?

Or, if another terroist strike happens, they can claim (like on soap operas) that Bin Laden came back to life!

I think the guy died in 98 - and that they have been using him as a justification ever since - so if they "kill" him it will only be the end of this story line in the CIA script

It gives the Bush Administration a gold star on their collective forehead. They didn't earn it though.
