Unless you are trying for a degree of some kind I would just read, read, read, There are many good herbal books out there. Go to a good book store like Barnes and Noble and I'm sure they will recommend some good ones for you. Back to Eden is one of my favorites. I also use the Herb Book and Herbal Medicines a lot.

Clayton College of Natural Health has a good program. So does Trinity College of Natural Health. Trinity is a little cheaper than Clayton, and just as good. The last I looked, quite a few of the staff at Clayton were from Trinity!

Take a course in herbology, anatomy and physiology, and nutrition. There is no herbology course alone that I am aware of that is sufficient in anatomy and physiology. Before you can understand the effects of herbs on the human body, you have to know the human body.

The classes can be quite expensive. You should read about it and then see if one of the authors of the book. Find other practicing herbalists see what they did.

stay away from courses like: master herbalist, holistic health pratitioner, and nutritional consultant. They dont give you a real degree, its just a stupid piece of paper saying you completed a study.
