I've been playing games for a while now, and all this time I can't seem to play a game without playing all the games before it. It just doesnt feel right! I've now decided to step into MMORPGs and my choices are: WoW, Everquest, and City of Heroes. But after realizing that warcraft is a series I'm wondering: Should i go through the trouble of seeking out One and Two (Three is fairly new) just to play the "Worlds Greatest MMORPG"?

Many gamers encounter the same problem with “series” games, not only on the PC but other gaming consoles as well. Sometimes the background information in crucial, however, in the case you really do not need to spend money on buying and several hours trying to beat Warcraft I, II and III (III also had an expansion pack) just to get the story. I believe Blizzard did a great job in incorporating out enough background information in WoW so that players with no knowledge of the Warcraft series can jump straight into WoW with no problem. Just be sure to read all the “quests” you receive carefully as they’re a major source of the majority of information. Further, if you wish to do a bit of reading, this site, http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/info/story/ gives a decent amount of history of the Humans, Orcs, Night Elves, Scourge Invasion, Undead, etc . .

WoW is a very awsome game. I have played EQ but not CoH. You dont really need to have played W1, W2, or W3 to play WoW with ease. But the story from W3 is continued into WoW. Alot of people who are very big into WoW play W3 when the WoW servers are down because it is a very good game. But as I said, no previous Knowledge of the Warcraft series is needed for WoW because the gameplay and style is very different.

Just play wow.
You dont need any backstory and if your interrested you can go back.
Furthermore the expansion pack is coming out soon and there will be even more to do. Once you start you'll want to level so much you'll never look back.
