Use Off insect repellent on yourself, spray your windows and doors with bug spray and while outside light citronella candles or tiki torches.
If you are upto it, swallow a whole piece of garlic (don't chew), you won't perceive the smell but the mosquitoes will and they will keep off.

Avon Skin So Soft is a great way to keep the mosquitoes off of you and its now relatively cheap and comes in small spray bottles. I took it with me to Scandinavia and Russia this summer on a cruise where the bugs were horrible and it worked like a charm! Call your local AVON dealer (look in the phone book) and they will deliver it to your door!

Off Deep Woods will do the trick. I'm from Germany and spent eight months in Houston in 2004. The bugs were eating me alive if I did not use Off. For me it worked best.

Bug spray usually does the trick, just don't use the bug spray in aerosol containers. Usually brand name does do well. Off spray will work!

Good Luck!

STAY INSIDE!! just kidding
Off works and wear light colored clothes, if you go to a Wal-mart go to the sporting goods area look in the camping gear. There is a box of mosquito coils it is green with yellow (thing) writing, they work better then any others I have tried.

Use off spray. It works great, takes care of the job but be sure to wash it off once you go indoors.
