this is really going to depend on your phone's capability. i know that some phones would allow you to use MID files attached to photo messages as ringtones, but not all of them did. i know verizon's strict policy on ringtones is that you have to buy them through Get It Now, but there are ways around that. Look online for cellphone hacks. Be careful, though... anything you do in the cellphone hacking realm could cause you to damage your phone, so proceed with caution.
as for where to get MID files, do a google search for MID files. that's what you're looking for.
