Sure have been. I went over the bridge from Memphis, Tennessee into Arkansas, looking for a fireworks place, and ended up lost in Mississippi. Where I was reminded me of a ghost town. The homes were all up on cement blocks, no vegetation on the ground, dust and sand blowing everywhere.
I drove around a little bit and ended up in a neighborhood that was very unfriendly to white girls.
I bolted out of there and found my way back to the bridge. This is before cell phones were even an option for me. There is a God, because I still have no idea how I found my way back.

Yes, once I was lost while out hiking in an unfamiliar area. I missed the trail back, kept hiking, finally came out in a neighborhood. A kind person there gave me a ride back to the entrance where I had parked.

yes, and its not a pleasant feeling. Years ago I took my two sons to a jogging park, with trails and kind of high brush. well after a while we became lost and it was getting dark (dusk) I just knew enough to follow where the sun was going to settle in the west and somehow made it back.
