do you do much excercise or sport? this may help since you fall to sleep easier when you are tired. Also, when you go to bed, try to relaxed, don't think of all you have to do tommorow etc.

Try self-hypnosis. Or just lay down without thinking. Don't TRY not to think about anything (because that is also a thought), just let all the thoughts pass from your attention on their own. Reading and listening to your ipod probably will not help your situation. Avoid caffeinated drinks (tea, soda, coffee, etc).

If your problems are severe, try drinking some chamomile tea. But be warned, it may cause you to be suddenly depressed for a couple of days. It does that to me, at least.

You do need to sleep. Try going to bed earlier than usual, turning off or covering every light-emitting thing in your room, and just laying there. Good luck!

your probably worrying or thinking too much about things such as school ,freinds etc which is affecting your sleep patterns. When you go to bed try to switch off completly do not think about anything.Try to imagine a place in your mind thats complely relaxing ie your own special place that completly relaxes you .Also try to get to bed at the same time each day .If you go to bed at differnt times during the week your sleeping patterns are disrupted .Lastly try to get in a lot of exercise during the day that should make you ready for sleep better.
