I beleive that they have. Or rather have tried to. By claiming themselves to be Christians, they are free to do anything that they want and ignorant people will support them just because they insist that they are Christians louder than everyone else.
The right has proven over and over that they are not Christians.
Jesus said not to kill.
Jesus said not to steal.
Jesus said not to lie.
Jesus said not to be afraid.
Jesus said not to hurt people.
Jesus said to forgive and turn the other cheek.
Jesus said that vengeance belongs to the Lord, not us.
Jesus said to take care of the poor.
Jesus said to heal the sick.
Jesus did not promote war, even in the midst of oppression.
-Republicans promote war.
-Republicans promote torture.
-Republicans kill people.
-Republicans promote revenge.
-Republicans constantly try to raise health care costs and reduce the number of people that have health coverage.
-Republicans try to abolish welfare or any help to the poor.
-Republicans believe in stealing from the poor and giving it to the rich.
-Republicans promote fear.
I am not condemning Republicans for doing these things...I am saying that it's wrong to claim to be a religion to get voted into power when everything that you proceed to do is blatantly against what the religion stands for. It hurts all true Christians when people like this do evil things in the name of a beautiful, peaceful religion! It's the same as what terrorists do to Islam.
Liberals don't want to get rid of religion. They just don't believe that people of one religion should try to force everyone to believe the same way. That is why freedom of and from religion is built into the constitution. Not to get rid of religion, but to allow everyone to believe their own way, and to keep people from trying to force others to believe a certain way...and also to keep people from trying to claim a religion so that they can say that anyone that doesn't vote for them is voting against the religion...like Bush has always done.

Jesus, inspite of the tries of the Pharisees and His very own followers, prevented politics. He did not oppose nor help the Roman enterprise. If He grow to be anti-enterprise, it purely went as a approaches via fact the classes and practices of the priests of His day. in spite of each thing, He got here to fulfill the 1st covenant and initiate the 2d. classification conflict? No. He got here to divide families, those for Him and those against Him. He instructed the wealthy to assist the damaging, yet to not the quantity that there grow to be to be some government software overseeing the entire technique.

I wouldn't say that. But for those who argue that the Bush Administration is not anti-progressive...well they sure as hell are not being very progressive right now. They have never been as a matter of fact. The facts support my claim.
