How would you define a plain looking girl/boy?

Well it's hard to describe specifically in words. But there are attractive people, whose features are perfectly proportioned and pleasant to look at (the Angelina Jolies & Brad Pitts of the world), then at the opposite end there are people who are ugly with disproportionate features that are not as pleasant. Somewhere in between are plain people who are neither very attractive or ugly. They don't strike you one way or the other. Plain people can become more attractive with a little effort though. (Hair, clothes, makeup & attitude can count for a lot.) Sometimes a person appears plain because they're shy & hiding behind unflattering clothes & hair...

No matter what, true beauty comes from inside & radiates outward. Sometimes I have been very attracted to someone who wasn't conventionally attractive because of their personality. In high school I liked a guy that people called "crater face" with bad acne scarring (he had a sexy rebelliousness about him) & another guy who had a unibrow (he was funny & outgoing.)

Boys/Men are usually not referred to as plain because of the simplicity of a mens apparel overall. However, I would define a plain girl as one who does little to alter her looks in terms of femininity. She wears little jewerly and accessories; leaves her hair simple and wears little or no makeup.

A plain looking person has an unremarkable appearance.
