White Wisteria, looks fantastic and smells fab. It will take a few years to get that way though so put in some clematis as well. A Montana clematis like Jackamani will grow very fast, is easy to look after and looks fantastic.
You could also plant an Iceberg Rose; white, repeat flowering, easy to care for and very profuse flowers.
Or try a mix of early and late flowering Clematis with Honeysuckle.
Passion flower grows rapidly but can be a bit hit and miss with the numbers of flowers you get. Do make sure that any passion flower you plant outside is hardy in the UK. I don't know of any hardy passion flower that is scented but the purple varieties look fantastic.

For best effect plant several different plants that flower at different times. A wisteria is one of the finest plants for a pergola, but include at least one clematis Montana for the spring and at least one of the large flowering clematis hybrids for the summer, roses, if you like them, are good for scent, or use jasmine or sweet peas if you don't want thorns, grape vines are good for providing shade, fruit and giving autumn colour.

Patio tomatoes grow to be a much smaller plant than a garden tomato. You don't need to stake them. Make sure they have lots of sun and water them every day if there is no rain getting to them.
