why are we killing our troops to install a democracy in iraq, when only 50% vote in US?

either we dont care about our troops, or we dont care about our democracy.......which is it? or is it both?

One scenario has nothing to do with the other. First, it is our enemy that is killing our troops. We do care about our troops and do not want to have any of them harmed but that is the way combat is. Each of our troops are volunteers and have long ago resigned themselves to the possibility they may get maimed or killed. As a whole, our military thinks what is being done in Iraq and Afghanistan is important and worthwhile. IF WE SHOULD LEAVE IRAQ BEFORE THE JOB IS FINISHED would show that we do not care about our troops as all the ones that have been killed and maimed in Iraq would have been done in vain. We do care about our democracy because when we get some countries with democracies in the middle east
there's a good chance that the idea will spread to other countries there and the more democracies there are, the safer ours is.

Half the people that complain about the President didnt't vote and they probably never will.

Sad thing is there was a ~80% voter turn out in the Iraq elections.

we are not trying to set up a democracy in iraq we are setting up a puppet regime we hope the iraqis will believe is a democracy. if anyone doesnt believe this guess who giving orders,the same guy who supplied the "intelligence"on wmd.al maliki.
