To do the top of your eyelid:
warm up the pencil first by hot breathing on it (like you would when steaming up a window)
you can hold your eyelid down if it makes it easier by your eyelashes.
simply draw a line as close to your lash line as possible. It does not matter if its a bit wonky because you can smudge it later with either a cotten bud or your little finger.
If you feel confident to do a flick then go ahead - but stick to very small upward pointing ones with a pencil eyeliner.
For the bottom eyelashes:
quite a lot of people draw a line on the inner rim of the eyelid. This is not as hard as it sounds, just pull your eyelid down a bit and gently fill in the thin rim.
For a more smoky look you can draw the line a little further out aswell- slightly underneath the eyelashes. However, make sure your pencil is sharp so you get a thin line. Otherwise you could look like a panda!
Sometimes it looks nice to smudge it a little towards the outer edge of your eye. You can try and join it to the upper line if you feel confident.
I know that seems like an essay but i hope it helps!

Make sure the pencil is soft, i.e. not cheap money wise. It depends where upon your eyes you think everyone who sees you needs it. Because you will not see it, but you will suffer for it in the heat, the rain and when you cry, or laugh. So, why wear it. if you are that insicure and need a pencil around your eyes, just draw around the shape of your eyes with the pencil. then your can look like you drew a pencil around your eyes and everyone will marvell at you. Were you born with pencil around your eyes, or did someone put it there, and now your an addict. Oh, it was some advert on the t.v. or a silly magazine, or did you see a film stare with exaggerated eyes...that was for camera my dear, not for the street, unless your a lady of the night.

First of all, only put it on the outside of your eyelids. If you're putting it on your top lid, it should be fairly easy. Close your eyes 1/2 way and look into a mirror. Draw a line gently right next to your lashes. On your lower lid, stay close to your lashes, and don't press too hard. To make the line look more natural, smear it really gently with your pinkie or one of your fingers.
I use pencil eyeliner, and I've never had an issue, so I hope this helps.
good luck! :)

First, put on all your eyeshadow, but don't put on your mascara yet (do that after). Second, sharpen your pencil within an inch of its little life. Third, I like to soften the pencil by holding it over a candle (just until it softens a little--it depends on the brand how long it takes). Fourth, hold your eyelid taught and drag the pencil from the inside to the outside of your lid, try to get as close as possible to the root of your eyelashes. Then repeat for the other side.

Personally I do my left eye first, then my right (I am right- handed, left handers might find it easier to start with the right eye). Then again, I only do the top, and I don't put any in the inner lid of my eye because they're sensitive. As for the liquid eyeliner, I'm surprised that someone else finds it easier to use that; I find pencils easier because they are easier to control as you can hold it nearer to the tip. Or maybe that's just me...

To do the bottom pull your skin around your eye down so you can easily put it on without stabbing yourslef. i would use liquid because is you get it wrong its a nightmare and can run into your eye.
Now for the top (harder) pull you eyelid up and do the bit on your outside. it will feel a bit weird. then do the inside this is the hardest bit but you dont have to put it all the way. Do it in a mirror aswel!

The best way is to do tiny dots and join them together but hey that is a challenge. I prefer liquid eyeliner, easier to put on and a better finish. Hope this helps.

Try a liquid eyeliner. This may seem a bit tricky at 1st but much better when you get the hang of it.

Try Estée Lauder Artists Eye Pencil, it has a smudger on one end so you can blend away any mistakes, and it is a great texture, not too hard. Practice, practice, practice!!!!
