My 4 month old weighs 14lbs 8ozs and is on the 50th% line of growth charts. Between about 13lbs and 16lbs is the 'normal distribution' at this age - I assume that @ 5months you can add a lb onto this - so maybe bewteen 14-18lbs would be normal. However, weight is relative to height, and is also dependent on birth weight. If they were small @ birth - it may take a while yet to 'catch up' with their peers. Likewise, large babies sometime grow a little more slowly. (My son was a big baby, but has slowed from 75% to 50% line). You should be visiting your health visitor who can plot their growth on a chart showing where they are comparative to other babies their age. Like others have said though - these charts are based on white european babies - there are debates over the accuracy of these since asian babies are smaller, and breast fed babies tend to dip on these charts @ approx 4months since formula babies can get a little chubby, whereas breat are leaner. What I'm saying is it's all relative to your baby - are they happy? Are they gaining weight? are they healthy? If yes - then their weight is fine.

Okay, in reference to the above answer it is not 20-25 lbs. My son is 6 months old, two days ago, and he weighs 18.8 lbs. He is quite large for his age. He is in the 95 percentile for height and weight in his age range. I would guess about 14-16 lbs. This is only a guess, I cannot speak from experience.
Although, I did see a 7 month old a couple days ago that weighed 13.5 lbs, so I don't know what the average weight would be, but you can google a chart like the above answer. That is probably your best bet.

There really isn't a normal weight for babies of any age, that is why doctors tell you where they fall on a percentile chart. Being in the 50th percentile is average for kids of that age. Discuss your baby's weight with the pediatrician, the doctor will tell you if the baby seems to be really big or really small for their age.

my baby was like 15 to 17 pounds and 25 in" and my doctor said he was perfect but your baby's weight depends on his weight as well as his age so you would really want to ask the doctor

There are different charts for boys and girls. If you go to GOOGLE you can type in growth chart for infant newborn to 2 years and also put in boy or girl. Then you can graph your child onto the chart. OR ask your childs doctor to explain the chart to you at his/her next appointment.
