You have to make sure you get that gas out. Any baby, because of the sucking motion required, will swallow gas with his milk.
Try just laying him up against your shoulder, and patting and rubbing his butt and back. Or try turning him around so that his face is up, and rub his stomach. (It helps if his chin is kept a little elevated to allow the air out.) He will eventually expel that bubble.
Colic is not a fun condition for any baby (or parent).

The thing with burping is that each baby is able to burb in different positions, sounds funny but my first was an on the shoulder and back rubbing burper, my second was sitting on my lap hand under chin job. There all soooo different it would be easier if they were all the same.....but not as exciting though.
You just gonna have to (softly of course) change his position till you get something from him. If your worried about him vomiting and he does it a few more times speak to your Health Visitor. Good luck with it all and keep up your breastfeeding - I hope you find it as rewarding as I did...your doing good.

My daughter wasn't a great burper. I don't know if she just didn't swallow a lot of air while she breastfed or what. You might check with your doctor the vomitting could be caused by reflux or excess gas from not burping. You might have to start using gas drops, check with the doctor to see which brand he recommends.

First and foremost I want to give you props for breastfeeding. I breastfed my son, and they are much healthier happier little ones. Some people think its gross. Have you tried laying him on his stomach across your legs? I would alternate my son. Also, there are those drops, called Malicon, maybe. I dont know how to spell. But those work just in case you cant burp him and he's uncomfortable.. good luck, and remeber to enjoy him, he's going to be fine. All babies are different. He's only going to be that little for so long.

Breast fed babies don't need to burp as much as bottlefed babies. If he doesn't seem like he is in pain, then he doesn't need to burp. If he is going for a while inbetweem feed, then the vomiting during a feed probably isn't caused by wind.

I don't know too much about breastfeed baby's, but I think that the reason your baby doesn't burp too much is, because you are eating a balanced diet. Just to make sure, put your baby tummy down on your tummy. Pat your baby gently.

I used to put a pillow on my lap and rest my daughter on the pillow then tap her on the back. Sometimes having her upright didn't work and with her on her stomach the gas would come out a little easier. But it helps to use the pillow because sometimes their bellies hurt if there's too much gas, so the pillow can cushion their stomach. Let me know what you tried and if it worked!

Don't worry too much about the spitting or the burping. You are awesome for breastfeeding, it is best thing you will ever do.
One method I used with my daughter was to lay down with my daughter tummy to tummy with me and then gently grab her waist and pull her up and down, sometimes she burped, sometimes she didn't, but she always relaxed.

With breastfeeding they don't need to burp as much. Babies do spit up sometimes. Could have eaten to much try gas drops just before you feed him he may sleep better.
