France has got a temperate climate which means hot summers and cold winters. Although it depends on where you live, North or South !
Actually living in the south, the last winters have been steadily colder !
With snow and below freezing at night !
Do take some warm clothes or buy them in Montpellier, a nice shopping mall is expecting you ! lol

I looked at the climate projection and I would say 1 or 2 outfits of summer clothes will be enough until next May or June. In general the climate for the next 6 months looks to be damp and cool.
