Results count....you may enjoy doing something immensely but if the results are disappointing then you can say you are not good at it....yet. Few people are great at something their first time out but if you enjoy the process then keep at it until you ARE good at it . You will know when you are good at it in 2 ways, you will admire your results and be proud of what you have done and people around you will give you positive feedback. Natural ability can give you a head start but practice and perseverance accomplish much more.

If you do something and it feels fun and comfortable and you look forward to doing it again - you can practice and get better at it and develop whatever talent you have. I think it's great to try new things - new activities, new crafts, different projects. As you try new things you are bound to notice whether or not you enjoy a certain part of the process and have a happy experience. I used to think that if I tried something and I wasn't good at it immediately that I had no natural talent at it. The older I get the more I find that 1. Sometimes you have to practice 2. Life is to enjoy doing what makes you happy 3. Don't sweat it so much - trying new things is fun and it wakes up your brain. I believe that if you do things that are new to you then you are exercising your brain. :) And also, if you do something, whether it's drawing or singing or whatever, you are expressing who you are. The end result doesn't really matter if you are doing something to express yourself and to grow as a person.
Good luck to you!
and have fun!

If you're good at something, it doesn't automatically mean it's easy for you. The best way to find out what you're good at is to try lots of things and discover your talents.

My specialty is making jewelry. I knew I was good at it for two reasons: 1) I liked what I made and 2) so did everyone else. Now I'm honing my skills in art school.

I have always loved cross stitch since I was a child before counted cross stitch became popular. So I have done it all my life because it has been a labor of love. I wouldn't say I am world class at it, but I enjoy it.

crochet. I find it easy, and i am good @ it. have been doing so for over 30 yrs. I found out I was good at it,when I began to crochet and was able to look at a complicated pattern, and say " cool...bring it on!" instead of cringing, and making (yet) another scarf....

has this ever happened to you that you have done something and it felt so natural... you love doing it and you feel like doing it as well... something which relaxes you and is therapatic... i like cycling, swimming, reading, sometimes knitting and crochet as well... and of course, there is the computer... playing cards, watching films...
