Why take the risk?

I had a drink about 3 days before I realized I was pregnant. I could not finish the drink and I felt sick. I don't think it will effect on the first week but I would stop drinking if you want a healthy baby best of luck

depends on what you mean by "first week of pregnancy". from the time your egg is fertilized, it takes 5-7 days until implantation. In that week, it would not hurt. If you drank after implantation, then yes, it could hurt the baby, but it also depends on what and how much you drink. A glass of wine or beer is not going to hurt as much as 10 shots of vodka. But like I said, if implantation has not yet occured, then it wont hurt. Most likely, one night of drinking during the first week will not cause serious damage. I would not continue to drink after you have found out that you have concieved though.

I really do not think so. Before I found out I was officially pregnant, only three days before I got blastedly drunk on numerous margaritas. Once I found out I was preg. I was so paranoid the whole pregnancy but I gave birth to a beautiful healthy and smart baby girl.

It's not likely, but if you know you are pregnant definatley don't. There is no known "safe" amount, but most women do drink or even smoke before that pregnancy test comes out positive.

Drinking at any stage effects the baby.

Not at all. With my first child the day before I found out I was pregnant I got really wasted. With my second child I went on vacation for a montha nd I found out I was pregnant right before my vacation was over and throughout the whole time I got wasted all the time. I told my OB doctor about it and he told me not to worry about it. Both of my kids came out really healthy with no problems.

You are fine, dont worry about it at all. Most people dont know they are even pregnant for the first month. I quit when the pregnancy test came back positive. My daughter is just fine.

I drank till I was very drunk ( i only ever did that twice) and then learned 3 weeks later I was pregnant. I never drank again (during the pregnancy) and my baby was fine.

One of my closest friends talked to a doctor who said that she can have one glass of wine as long as you drink your 64 ounces of water that day. I hope this helps.
