Depends on where you plan on going with your life.

If you plan on going into college or university, you would have to take them. Either the SATs or the ACTs.
For just stopping at high school, then no. And probably trade school too.

The SATs are standardized tests to help higher education schools decide how you rank with the rest of the students in the country and sometimes in the world.

If you want to go to college then probably yes.

You can take it multiple times and they only look at your best score. Most students do much better the second time they take it. It used to be 3 hours but they added an English Composition section and it is a little longer now.

Since you can take it multiple time, there shouldn't be any pressure. Except for the essay it's all multiple-guess and there are good preparation books.

Yes,unfortunatley you must take it no matter what. It's a MUST.Basically you have no other choice. Some students choose to take it twice, once for extra practice I think and the other as a final. But you dont have to take two sats.
If you wanna get into college/university thats your only ticket in.
Don't take the S.A.T.You dont graduate, you dont graduate you dont go to college. It's also very hard to find a job that hires someone who didnt graduate. The test was a sinch.I chose to take it twice. I'm now a freshman going to Pitt University.
The test was not the easiest, but i passed it and anyone can pass it i think.Just keep focused and you'll be fine! Good Luckk!!:)

Standarized test...lol
You don't have to take it... but i was taught that it is good...
if you plan on applying to college/universities you def. should...they don't only look at that but it's a major part is the decision making if you get accepted or not...
But now if you don't want to go to college then you don't have to worry about it...or even a trade school....

THere is also SAT2's ... these are not required...but if you want to take them you can also...colleges looks at that too..it's only on a specific subject..like math, english, spanish etc only test.....

You should really talk to your guidance counselor she/he should help you with all of this process..applying and testing ..etc

a test required for admission to college/university
(since it's a test given in the same way for the entire country, it helps the admission committee see how ur knowledge measures up to other candidates.)

if u stop with just ur high school diploma, then no.
if u just want to go to a trade school, then no. (when i say trade school...i mean learning to become a plumber or ambulance driver for example)

you will need it to help you get into a university when you graduate, universities look at them to see how smart you are and how well your doing in hi-school. its their own version of AIMs besides it will look good on your college application. if you score hi enough you have a chance at getting a scholarship.
