Well, if it's really not you (and a woman's mental state has much more to do with her ability to orgasm than any other factor), you need to tell him what kinds of things you like. If there's something specific that he does or doesn't do, it can be addressed. For instance, if he doesn't last very long, he can practice by himself lasting longer and longer, or you two can start up again after he finishes the first time. You need to show and talk to him while you are doing it. Then get some mags like men's health, stuff, or fhm, They have pointers in them sometimes. You cant blame him for it if he doesn't know off hand. He sounds like me, I didn't know at first, It was bad. It was like getting a bull into stable. But my lovely wife showed me and I'm better than ever. Even now if she wants something done new she lets me know by telling me while we doing it in bed. You need to let him know what to do. First - the dude isn't a mind reader - tell him what you want and how you want it!!
Second - go get the book Kama Sutra and give some of those positions a go...
Third - if sex is that important to you, find someone else soon, before this becomes an issue so big you can't see around it.

It takes two to be good in bed. It's not his fault if you can't get off. It's only half his fault.
Also, foreplay can do alot to increase the sexual intensity thus leading to orgasm. Self-stimulation is an option as well and one that I would recommend for two reasons. It helps you determine how to satisfy your needs and also, it will help to show him what areas he should be focused on to satisfy you.
