you idiots! dont you ever listen to the codec conversations?! the reason why its called snake eater is because the radical solder cell in the game are called the Cobras and its called operation snake eater because snake has to kill all the members of the cobras........its also the reason how snake got his codename since snake is a former disciple of the boss who is a member of the cobras.

It's called Snake Eater because in this game you get to hunt for your food in the jungle. You can eat gator, rats, and obviously snakes...hence the name.
