in the town where i live some polish people have opened a takeaway. on the door outside it says..no brits allowed. what would happen if an english person did this and said.. no muslims..portugeese whatever. what i want to know is..can they say this..is it legal.

Dunno if this is legal or not, but the sheer bloody cheek of it makes my blood boil. Why live here. with us if we're not even good enough to go into a shop? We would never get away with if, even if we wanted to be so childish in the first place.Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!

Of course it's illegal but most people wouldn't notice.
Most people that I know in this country don't use brit. but the slang limey, or the word English would be recognizable.
I would think that the Polacs don't know better. I would also think a better sign on the door should say " If your an idiot your welcome to join the other idiots that own and operate this store".

It certainly is illegal, it also is Publicly upsetting.
Hit the Press, Police, Council, MP, really splash this.
Publish their name and address on the internet.
Brits are constantly being vilified for supposedly doing the same thing, (we don't in fact).
Of course you could demonstrate up and down the road burning effigies of the owners. This seems to work with others.

oh my god, that's awful. if we had an anti-polish sign on a chippie door for example, we would be severely had in court.
not to mention the cheek of it! there not supposed to be here anyway. they should be in poland making it richer or something.
I'd walk in the door, take a photo of it in place and rip down the sign, then take it and the photo to the police.
although i bet they wouldn't do much about it. so as not to rock the boat or something.
Disgusting I say!
and definitely NOT legal. its discriminatory!

go and see the council or someone who will listen...the police may not want to deal with this as its not an emergency...but im surprised its still open im from northern ireland and if it was here offending a certain element of the comunity it would have bin blown sky high by now.xx liz

Not legal. its of a racist nature and if you perceive it to be racist contact the local Police. Its also positive discrimination.
