Two years in Hawaii (the salt air) left my van in really bad shape. Is there something on the market, or something homemade I can use to clean the water spots marks off the windows and paint? Normal washing does nothing.

first buff the paint with a very fine buffing compound, then wash with a good auto soap and towel dry then wax with a good marie wax as far as the windows I use Bonni it will not scratch, mix it with water to make a paste then buff the windows let dry then wipe it off and use Windex to clean.

Rubbing compound will get the salt and oxidation off. Then you'll want to put some good wax on it. If the actual paint is damaged to where you can start to see rust or the primer then your just gonna have to get it painted. Try the rubbing compound. When done with that you'll know whether or not you can wax it after wards or if the paint is just too far gone.
The rubbing compound can be purchased at any Wal mart or auto parts store.

pine oil, combined with a degreaser. those two item's will conflict but at same time put up a barrier to the salt water!
