Reality check....this isn't a "new thing" that's happening here. Highschool teachers and students have always done this, it's just a bit more "public" these days. Do you not watch the news? Teachers both male and female) have been charged for this.
Alot of theses teachers are the ones that instigate it...but there are students that do the same. You want good grades to get into a great college/university, then give something to get something is the mentality they have about it.

depends...a couple of years ago there was a rumor going around in my middle school that a teacher was having sex with students it turned out it was only a rumor but in some places this can be true...talk with the school principal (or vice principals) and guidance couselors...they will have to take action on this because it is a serious situation for any town

Perhaps you should stop right now, examine what your daughter actually said, and find out exactly what she meant, and exactly how she knows! I don't think I would be flying off to the PTA or Dept. of Education until I knew a lot more about what, where, who, when, why...otherwise, you may make a very big fool of yourself and your daughter. How old IS your daughter? This whole senario is very unlikely. Has it happened, certainly. Does it happen often...NO.

I would beat the crap out of any teachers in my highschool if I found out they were having sex with students.

Fist I'd make sure she knows 100% what sex is, which I assume she does. It happens, but a lot may be exaggeration to get teachers that student's don't like into trouble

You know, you find hispanic teachers who think they are white, and white teachers doing this the most. They have this idea the HIGHSCHOOL is like a candy store. Now, there are some B E A U T I F U L white women for teachers now-a-days, and if I were a highschool student, I'd bust my αss to get a bιtch in bed.

It's been happening for a long long time. It is just now being publicized more with our TV minded society. Maybe we as parents are paying more careful attention to what is going on at school because we seem to have more to worry about these days...and they are being caught and jailed.

If she is speaking about the world, then yes it is.
If she is speaking about her own school, you need to get in touch with the school board and the police right away, because this is not only unethical, but illegal.

It could be, although young girls are privvy to loads of gossip.
I wouldn't ignore it though - it's best to always follow it up in case your daughter becomes one of the victims...
