i have 2 NEW clownfish, they are my first fish i have in my tank. and one of my clownfish are swimming at the top of the tank, and is breathing very fast. i fresh-water diped it but it still is doing the same thing. The other clownfish is VERY healthy and my water is fine i think. i dont think im doing anything rong, but i need to know whats happening with my clownfish. does this happen with anyone elses clownfish? what can i do about it? somone please help so it doesnt die. okay thank you bye

It is just nervous. They can take up to a week to get used to being in a new tank. My own clownfish used to hide behind the pump all the time when I first got it. Now it has decided that that spot is its' home, and sleeps there every night.

I doubt the clowns you got are a pair. it sounds like you have two individuals. the more dominant fish will keep possesion of the best territory (anenome) this is usually the female. the smaller male will have to wait to be invited in. The fast breathing is probably from stress from being forced to live away and from the freshwater dip. Don't freshwater dip as the stress may induce white spot which will spread to the other fish and kill both.

when a fish swims near the top,it usually in skimming the water for food.maybe give them a small pinch of food about 3 times a day.dont put too much food in,though.too much makes the water quality bad.
