How do I go about getting that sticky stuff off?

You'll need something - non greasy - to cut through the glue. See if you can find a product that is a washable oil type of product - that's oily but water based. Test it on a hidden part of your item and then if it comes out with the wash use it on the glue. Try freezing and picking away at it bit by bit. Maybe try that stuff that mechanics use to wash their hands after working with grease and oil.

Dry the shirt and then use hairspary and rub sticky stuff off. The combined ingredients, not just alcohol, in hair spray helps remove the adhesive and also helps remove ink stains before a garment is washed.
