Hello stacia. I am Helga and I am one of the designers at IKEA. This name has nothing to do with tongue and groove but with the fact that many of us who design the beds are women (and most of us are lesbians). So at the factory they started calling them lesbian beds and the word got around. By the way, women historically design more comfortable sleeping facilities and lesbian women particularly seem gifted at it.

That was a sad and old joke, not an actual fact.
It's a play on words with the "tongue and groove" being put in a sexual context as referring to lesbian oral sexual practices....
