It's not really a craft but it will help fill up time and help keep her busy.
On the babysitting tonight with a 5 yr old, if the parents allow sweets take a easy to prepare bagged cookie dough like Betty Crocker cookie mix and have her help you make it. Kids of all ages like to make cookies. All the way from my 4 yr old granddaugther to my 17 yr old step daughters.
With a little one you open the bag and let her help pour it into the bowl. You measure the ingredients and let her help pour them into the bowl. Let her help stir the bowl and put them on the cookie sheet. If you make sugar cookies, you can get a can of premade icing & may be some sprinkles. It can get messy but she and you will have a great time. Just please remember to be patient with young kids in the kitchen.
She can have a treat to eat and share with parent(s). The house will smell good and she can brag to she made cookies.

use pipe cleaners to make animals or flowers.
mosaic a jar or vase with colored papers and modge podge. Tear little pieces as if they were tesera of glass or ceramic and paste them in cool designs on the vase. if you don't have modge podge, you could probably thin a little elmers with water
the child will have fun tearing up the papers into little pieces.
use different shapes of macaroni to make a necklage or art work. these can be painted.
use different spices to make a picture, by putting glue on the paper and then sprinkling the appropriate colored spice on the wet glue area to fill in the color you like.

dress up! not exactly "crafty" but if you dont have the play dresses and such, make paper dolls and dress THEM up. very fun. lil kids liek cutting and mixing and matching. its kinda like playing barbies, but better, cause u actually make them.
