You have made great progress. The trick is to POP the FRONT panel section off. This will give you full access to the drives that slide out throught the front.
I assume that you are going to change or add a drive from the front. You are almost there. If you were adding a card, or adding RAM, you got that other side panel off.

Some cases were built by idiots (HP, Dell, Compaq). Call the idiots, and they'll be able to tell you how to open up the case.
If ur in my newest struggle, I know exactly wut ur dealin with. I'm fixin a friend's PC, and the walls of the computer case are riveted (a permanent sealing, almost like welding it together) together. That really sucks when you need to change hardware.

you have to unscrew it from the back it seems, or just unscrew the rest of the plate that is behind the first one. I would suggest also emailing hp to get some help also

You have to slide the case off, by putting pressure against the "feet" and top at the same time. Yeah, computer cases are hard to open (atleast this kind).

be smart and leave it to a qualified technician. you can easily dislodge boards, sockets or simply break something.
