It's just that I recieved an email claiming that they contained asbestos and bleach and I was wondering if that is true

Tampons can cause many health problems. Many issues are due to the way that they are processed. Cotton contains huge amounts of chemicals and pesticides. There is question into the possibility of tampons causing sensitivity issues, or lack there of. If one chooses to use them, they should consider brands like natracare or seventh generation. They use organically grown cotton which could greatly reduce many issues surrounding tampons.

TSS (already mentioned) would be about the worst thing that could happen. There's information about it in the box, if you care to buy some and read it.
They're not harmful at all, unless you pull a real smooth one, like the girl I read about in Seventeen or YM magazine several years ago.... She went to the gyno about some serious cramps, and turned out she had forgotten to remove one before inserting another (brilliant).
On second thought, I lied. They MAY be harmful....but only to white pants on a heavy flow day, you know what I mean?

only if you leave them in longer, than you are supposed to.
This can cause TSS. Toxic shock syndrome.
I love them, you should try Tampax pearl!
Some people insert another before pulling one out. as long as you are smart about it..they are great.
Once you use them, you will never want to go back to pads!

they are not harmful unless u leave them in for longer than the recommended time. then u could get an infection from it called toxic-shock syndrome that can kill u.
