Jewelry stores don't often repair watches. Look in the telephone directory for watch repairmen. Call them if you find any, and you should in a city as big as Houston. I lived there a couple of years, and my oldest sister lived near there in Pasadena, Deer Park, etc. longer. I live in San Francisco now, and I know several watch repairmen here. I've seen some on the internet too. It may take more than a hour to repair a watch. The repairman may have many other watches to repair before he can get to yours. The problem may be severe,so that he must order parts. Patience is a great virtue. I have a Tissot "PRX" chronograph. I think it cost $550 in 1990. I have about 50 watches. Some old ones have taken a couple of years to repair. I have 1893 Patek Philippe, 1902 Vacheron Constantin, etc.

A jewelry store! You could try the galleria, and go to zales or something. I know walmart fixed mine in less than 10 minutes!
