I know of no power of nearsightedness, unless your speaking of nearsightedness in the way of how you think about things. As far as sight is concerned, it is defiantly not contagious. In the way of thinking it can be if you listen to the wrong people and become like them. Criticism can be contagious, but again don't be influenced by others, think for you self.
Don't be short sighted, look at the big picture and weigh each idea/thought carefully

what do you mean by "power of nearsightedness". I have been nearsighted since I was in 2nd grade, been wearing glasses full time since I was 12. NO it is not contagious and I think it is more due to the way we were taught to read than criticism from others.
