Don't think that waiting to call is a cool thing to do. It's frustrating for the other person and if you wait long enough, he may just be over you.

Hey, good luck with this. The rules are about the same.

You can call him whenever you want, but I think for a first date, you call next day, or the second day, no later. If you get his voice mail or roommate, you leave a message, don't call a second time, it's in his court. If you don't hear from him in two or three days, you can call once more to be sure he got the message, and then that's it.

As for a good time to hang out again, think about what's coming up that you could do together. If there's something going on tomorrow that you'd like to attend with somebody (sports event, concert, street fair, etc.) soon, don't wait! Ask him! If it's just hanging out, you have to feel out the time. A week or two weeks is the longest. Just like when you were dating chicks, you don't want to be so anxious he feels pressure, but you do want him to know that you're interested.

First of all, relax. Take a deep breath, none of this is a life or death thing...
Call him and tell him you had a great time. IF he wants to talk, he will. IF he doesn't , the call will be short. Nothing ventured, nothing gained kind of thing.
IF he talks, says he had a great time, then make another date before you hang up...it really is very simple, nothing magical...just common sense. And yes, exactly like a "chick." Same rules, nothing different . Good luck and peace.

Call him the following day and ask him to do something different.
For example, if you went to dinner on your 1st date, go to the movies on the 2nd, for a drink on the 3rd (if you're over 21) and so on.
That way you can find out more about him not by just talking but from his choices as well. What his favourite food is, what kind of movies he likes to watch, where he hangs out, the way he responds in different situations and stuff like that.. It's one of the best ways to find out about a person's character.

Chill out! A gay relationship is the same as any other, except it's same-sex instead of opposite-sex. If you're interested, call back when it feels right to you. Same with hanging out, and so on.

Good luck - and hope this guy turns out to be right for you!

Why not call him back now? And are you doing anything tonight that might be interesting to him?
